Michael Lewis is chief executive officer of E.ON UK plc. He has worked in the energy industry for almost twenty-five years in businesses operating across Europe and North America. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering, and an MSc in pollution and environmental control from the University of Manchester. He is a chartered engineer, and a fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE). Having joined PowerGen in 1993, Michael originally worked in various technical and commercial roles, before moving into corporate strategy and development. Following E.ON’s acquisition of PowerGen, he moved to E.ON’s headquarters in Düsseldorf in 2004 as vice president corporate development, where he worked on several E.ON Group strategy projects including E.ONs renewable strategy. In 2007, he was appointed as managing director for Europe on the board of E.ON Climate & Renewables (EC&R), where he built up E.ON’s onshore and offshore wind capabilities. He became CEO of EC&R in 2015, before being appointed as CEO of E.ON UK in April 2017.
